Hi,
When Green Plumbing is the topic, often times water conservation and re-usability goes along with it. The best way to improve something is to first look at what you have and what is been wasted. That's exactly the point of using "graywater" again-"reusing water".

Thanks

While this isn't exactly about leaks, it is about the EPA/Watersense.

The EPA has some wonderful ideas. They also seem to have some crackpot ideas, too.

The City of San Francisco, is/was an early adopter of the EPA's WaterSense toilets. The City financed the installation of about 16,000 of these devices with a financial rebate to the citizen/consumer.

According to the manager of the San Francisco Wastewater Department, Tommy Moala, they don't have sufficient flow of water through the sewer system to flush the waste. There are approximately 300,000 residences in San Francisco. Now, (no pun intended) there is a stink in San Francisco.

Saving water is a great idea. Ruining one's home and environment isn't.

I don't own stock in a business related to water, plumbing fixtures, construction, architecture, construction or finance ... I'm trying to say I don't have a financial interest in what I write about at:

http://high-efficiency-toilet.blogspot.com/

There I have tried to chronicle the development of how these low water use toilets came into existence and the consequences of violating the laws of physics, because politicians think that's a wise idea.

I'm not looking for a link into your Site/Magazine/Journal, I'm not looking to get my name mentioned or the URL I have above. But I do hope you consider what the government is doing and report on it constructively.

We have recently convened a water sharing working group of producers, irrigation entities and domestic water providers in the Poudre Basin. We remain hopeful that we can develop site-specific approaches for the Poudre Basin that at least provide drought year firming, and more security for ag decrees and those own and rent water. At the very least we can develop agreements that lower the potential for conflict, cooperate on infrastructure improvements and provide temporary access to some agricultural water during drought years. The fact is that North Poudre shareholders have already committed to swaping the multiple-use portion of >1000 shares of NP stock for ag water (blackwater from the Poudre) in 2013 to help the City of Fort Collins have more access to CBT water in Horsetooth that is easier to treat in that water quality has not been affected by the High Park Fire. This is in and of itself already proof that water can be temporarily transferred/shared by those owning ag water and there is no reason that agreements of this kind and others can not be institutionalized for the longer term. It would be more helpful if those you who understand the legal framework regarding water would do some positive thinking and help us work on creative solutions. Continued "buy and dry" will eventually come back to haunt us. Lets work on alternative transfer methods.

One should really have to view the "Behind the Scenes" also. These people are professionals. One doesn't swing simply from a rope, propelled from a bow, into a dead tree from an arrow. The tree was only a receiver, and likely would best serve for tree ring studies. The main rope is well anchored into rock. As Ever, Greg
